Happy Birthday Dad

My dad would've been 53 yesterday. I miss him so much. It's hard. I miss the fact that he didn't get to meet his grandsons...boys, he always wanted a boy. Jonathan looked SO much like him when he was a baby. Even though I have some resentment and alot of regrets when it comes to my dad, I loved him so much. Yesterday was tough. I think with it being his birthday, it allowed me to get some very much needed rest. Like I had an excuse to be all mopey. It does get easier each year (wow it's been 8 years since he passed away), but it never gets easy.

Recent Layouts

Sorry about the horrible scan. Stitching red is so hard!

I'm going to be very real here....

American Idol this year SUCKS! Yes, Lakisha, Melinda, Jordin, Blake, they are all good, hey even great performers. But nobody has that ummmphhh, kwim??? It's boring this year. Sanjaya has got to goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

Sick of being sick

After 3 weeks of this crap, I finally went in to see my Dr this AM. Mainly because I had a scary lump on the back of my neck...didn't help watching Terms of Endearment on Saturday! I used to brag, "Oh I never get sick"! "I've got immunities of steal"! Whatever, not since moving here....who knows why. I can't remember if it was that way when we were here before...

Praying my sweet kiddos don't get this. Wait, I think they are the ones that GAVE me this! LOL! Well, at least the first 'leg' of it.

Now I feel really guilty

Sorry for the stale blog. Yeah yeah I'm bad. I've been a terrible poster on a message board that's so near and dear to my heart. I keep thinking I'm so lost and behind so why bother. But I'm going to bother because I miss it, everyone so much. It always happens. If any of you are reading here from Playland, yes I mean you guys! :)

But a SJ friend posted that we should update our blogs. So Michelle, if you are reading this, your post worked! Here I am! LOL!

Another Thursday 13

Here are 13 things that make me wierd or so they say. :)

1. I have an extreme phobia of snakes. I mean, it's even hard typing out the word. It's beyond normal.
2. I can't sleep with the closet door open.
3. I cringe if a shower curtain is open.
4. I cry whenever anyone gets cut from AI, even if I don't necessarily like them.

8. I freak out if there's a newspaper lying around the house.
9. I can't drive in a messy car, within reason after having kids.
10. I take every single, little card subscrition offer out of a magazine before I read it.
11. It would totally blow my mind if I ever shopped at a grocery store, the opposite way of where I usually start. This reminds me of a good friend who says she alternates where she starts. CRAZY!
12. I HATE the feel of cotton balls and if they make a sound, I cringe.
13. I will honestly throw up if I smell hospital food.

And 13 more:

2. I love listening to Johnny Cash...I guess not all that wierd.
3. I really do think Simon Cowell is on the HOT side. hee-hee

12. I love oranges, but despise orange juice.
13. I fantasize about Tom Brady! Well, I shouldn't say fantasize, but I am amazed at how someone could be so gorgeous and so talented. Don't tell my ANTI-NEW ENGLAND PATRIOT FAN hubby that though. He doesn't read this blog!!!!!!

Now I challenge whoever reads this, post your 13 wierd things about you!

Thursday 13

Here's my favorite 13 things about Disney World:

13. Hearing about the legacy of Walt Disney himself

And here's a twist, another Thursday 13. 13 things I didn't like so much about Disney:

1. The crowds, I don't do well with huge crowds.
2. The yucky food, except for the ice cream of course!
3. Waiting in line to see a certain character and then all of a sudden, they leave.
4. The railroad ride, supposedly a roller coaster. whatever.
5. Splash Mountain being over so soon!
6. The wait time saying 30 minutes and it being 70 minutes...especially with a very active 4 year old!
7. The bathroom sinks not working worth a darn.

10. Playhouse Disney (shhhh don't tell Seth)
11. Having to leave each evening.
12. Having to get there SO early.
13. Having to leave period.

See, I couldn't even think of 13 things I disliked about Disney really. I could easily think of 13 more things I loved. :)

Back from Disney

That place was fabulous! I hated driving two days to get there (and back), but it was so worth it! We all had a great time...Jonathan and Seth loved it. Florida is a great place. The weather, the attractions, the weather, the restaurants, the weather, the shopping!!! :)

Anyway, I'm going to start tomorrow on my Disney mini books and I'll post pictures soon.

Sorry for my faithful blog readers that this blog is so stale. I keep saying I'll get better, but I never do. Honestly. I'm not ready to give up yet though!

Started a Bible Study Today...

and it was excellent! I haven't been to an organized Bible Study, just for women in about a year and a half. I really do miss it. This is one that the base chapel puts on. Awesome leader, ladies, and study. It's from Joyce Meyer titled "Battlefield of the Mind". Great stuff. I need it.

Stolen from Les's blog

Even though it's not Thursday, I love these!

Thirteen things that make me smile.....

Jonathan and Seth period.
Nathan coming home before 6PM
Scrapbook supplies
Talking to an old friend
Cheesecake
Nate's funny stories
Pictures of my friends and family, especially their kids
Getting fun mail
A clean house
A clean bathroom especially
When Nate cleans all three bathrooms, like yesterday
Hearing Jonathan read
Seth eating something that's significantly healthy for him

I'm back

Yes it's been way too long, but my job at WS is now over and things are starting to settle down a bit. So for those faithful blog readers who have been telling me to "UPDATE YOUR DAMN BLOG"! LOL!! Here goes. What's been going on with us:

1. I got a flu shot on Friday. NEVER ever had a reaction to it, but now I have the flu, or it feels like it. Chills, body aches, sore throat.
2. Jonathan and Seth are doing great in school and preschool. Jonathan's reading up a storm and Seth is recognizing words and writing! They are so fun and so sweet. I keep thinking the age they are in is the most fun, but it just keeps getting better.
3. Nathan got extended so we are here for another God-forsaken year. Ugh. Looks like we'll be at Barksdale (most likely) in Aug of 08. At least we get our 1st choice, but hey, we've had promises broken so I'm not holding on to anything.
4. We will be coming home on vacation soon, not sure when exactly. When Nate can take leave and when Jonathan will be on break, either winter or spring break.
5. We are really going to vacation in NC this summer! Disney in the fall. YAHOO!
6. It's COLD here, but still not a significant snow darn it. If it's going to be cold, it should snow.
7. I'm going to get my early ed certification! Starting soon. I'm sure I want to go back to teaching Prek in the future and I need that certification. I love that age and the flexibility.
8. We might be moving to a new base house. Jonathan' allergies are SO bad and we need a home without carpet. We'll have to downsize to get hardwood floors, but who cares.
9. I'm pretty sure I'm going to start posting my layouts here. Stay tuned. :)

1. O Holy Night
2. The War Is Over (Have a Very Merry Christmas) John Lennon/Yoko Ono
3. Feliz Navidad, the one with the kid's singing along
4. Mary Did You Know
5. Breath of Heaven
6. Mary's Boy Child
7. Silent Night
8. All Through The Night (not Cyndi Lauper song...lol)
9. Please Come Home for Christmas (Eagles)
10. Come On Here Those Bells
11. O Come All Ye Faithful
12. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
13. Away in a Manger

And just to add, I'm SO sick of "I'm Getting Nothing for Christmas"...William's Sonoma's favorite obviously...ugh....

Wednesday, November 22, 2006

I want this next from WS!

Actually, I want this for two boys that want this! It's a train cake pan...each section is a different car!

I love this place! I love working there! I love shopping there! :) I love my discount...went in yesterday and got some yummy stuff...can you believe this TRUE SOUTHERNER is changing her menu from cornbread dressing to focaccia stuffing!! Stuffing in a box already to go (well I'll add celery, onions, and mushrooms)! But it's Williams Sonoma stuffing!! Their gravy base is awesome...I probably will never do anything else. Let's see...I love their untensils. Got a new digital meat thermometer and a sporty new red apron! Oh and their garlic puree for mashed potatoes is wonderful! So let's see, got all that for $40 with my discount. Not bad! I'm praying that I get enough discipline to not spend every dime that I make on their products! My kids really do want Christmas and Birthday gifts! Sigh... :)
