Planting Flowers (and muddy kids!)

I wanted some color in my flower bed, but I'm not good with the flower part. Shrubs ok, but not the flowers.

So I enlisted the help of a dear friend who has the greenest thumb I know. Can you guess who planted these flowers for me (hint...Sonic cup!)?

Thanks Kelly for all your help!

So during all this planting or shortly after, the neighborhood kids were all playing down the hill. We've had horrible problems with flooding, washout, and mud (across the street thankfully!). Well there's a huge mud puddle down there. From what a hear, a certain kid came up with the idea of jumping right in the puddleand convinced the others to join him! Actually, can you believe it was the kid who got the muddiest! Funny how the youngest one, a 5 year old, would be the ring leader and all the others (some much older!) would be right behind him! I always knew I had natural born leader! ;)

The muddiest kid, yes Seth...he's almost unrecognizable!

Jonathan wasn't 'so' bad...my kid with caution!

Our neighbor, Courtney

Hannah and Olivia (our new neighbor)

Jacob (visiting our new neighbors)

Tyler (Olivia's older brother)

Now all in all, I didn't mind all this. I mean, it's summer fun and it's JUST mud right? ;) I do say this with ease because Nathan got the task of cleaning the boys!

Summer to-do list (inspired by Hannah)

I love lists! Hannah (seen here on her mom's blog) has inspired me to do a Summer to-do list!

1. Work every Tues and Thurs through the end of July. It's hard working this summer, even just for two days!
2. Go to NE Oklahoma to see friends, Kenna and Kathy in July. Also go to OKC and attend retirement ceremony for one of Nathan's best friends, Dave. He's in the Air Force and retiring after like 2o something years. Try to see other friends, Ms. Linda, Kathy and JD, Brother Rick, Misty, Leisa, Charm, Autumn. Eat at The Cheesecake Factory, Panera Bread, Poblano's, Abuelo's, Boomerang, and Taco Bueno. It's all about the food ya know! ;) Go to as many scrapbook stores as I can there.
3. Go to Water Country.
4. Go visit my grandfather for a day in Arkansas (inspired by Angela). I hope he'll make us some of his famous BBQ and homemade lemonade (it's BY FAR THE BEST!).
5. VBS at Eastwood as long as we don't go to OK that week.
6. Try to get caught up with scrapbooking.
7. Paint over the many scuff marks in this house. You'd think we have lived here for years. \
8. Continue our numerous block parties...well actually street parties. We all cook, play games, and hang out at each other's houses. We have the best street in Dogwood South! ;) I'm so thankful for great neighbors.
