Family Photo Shoot with Jen Doherty Photography

Last month, we had our family photos taken by my friend here in Warner Robins, Jen Doherty. She is just starting her photography business, but you wouldn't know that she had just started as a professional. She is amazing! We had such a fun, relaxed photo shoot going all over the place in Warner Robins at Robins AFB. If you need a photographer and you are here in middle GA, she is the one! Her prices are extremely reasonable too. Here's her website: http://jenndoherty.webs.com/

I want to blog again...

I really do. You see, my laptop has been dead since like Thanksgiving. Well, that's not totally true. I got it back last week for two days and then it started messing up again. I've had to use Nathan's mac and I couldn't figure out how to download pictures from my camera on it...well even if I had, he would've had a fit. AND our desktop was out of commission until just a couple of weeks ago! SO...I don't know what to do. Try to catch up and copy pictures from Facebook maybe? Or just start fresh from now...?

I really do miss it and I love having a place to document what's going on with us...well that and random things, recipes, ideas, etc.

I really. miss. my. laptop.

Happy Birthday Seth!

Seth turned 8 on December 29th. He always ends up having two celebrations because his birthday falls in the Christmas vacation. We never have his party because kids are always celebrating and visiting with relatives and are often out of town. This year, Nathan's parents were here so we had dinner at the Olive Garden, birthday cake, and he opened his presents from us. He got an electric scooter that he loves! Then a couple of weeks later, he had his two best friends, Cole (our neighbor) and Kaden come to the movies (they saw Yogi Bear) and pizza (Stevi B's). Seth and his best buddy, Cole.

Seth's "fake" birthday cookie cake. Seth's not crazy about chocolate so we got a sugar cookie cake this year.

Seth and Jonathan with their grandparents, Ne-Ne and Pa-Pa.

Seth's "real" birthday cake.

Where does the time go? I can't believe my baby is 8! In double this time, he will be 16! Crazy! I love you Seth!

We got "snow"!

Not much, but some. Actually it was more ice so the kids got an extra two days off from school this week!

Christmas 2010

This Christmas we didn't go anywhere. It was SO nice and relaxing being able to be in our own home...not having to drive/fly anywhere, toting all our necessities on top of all the numerous gifts. We just sent gift cards home to those that we usually buy for.... Two weeks before Christmas I had surgery to repair my bladder. I know TMI...but that surgery and my surgeon were a GOD send! Anyway, I scheduled it at that time since I knew I'd be able to recover and relax...like I was searching for an excuse to slow down and enjoy the holidays and focus on what Christmas really means, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ's birthday. Isn't that horrible that we have to have an excuse to slow down? With our busy lifestyles that's pretty much the way it is with anyone anymore. In saying all that, we had a great Christmas. Nathan's parents and brother, Matthew came. I made a huge dinner...turkey and ham. And the biggest hit was Paula Deen's broccoli casserole! Yum! I didn't take alot of photos either. I did take photos of the kids on Christmas morning opening some of their gifts.

It was so cute, each time Seth opened a gift, he would run and give us a hug!

Look at the awesome helmet he's pointing to!

Sorry for Max's red eyes...he's got the brightest, most beautiful blue eyes, but in photos, they are always red. Good thing for photo editing! Sorry I didn't for these.

Our Christmas guests. It was so nice having Nathan's parents and brother here. We ate and relaxed and played tons of mexican train dominos...that's our family favorite! I made lots of candy, cookies, and white chocolate covered peanut butter ritz...we snacked on all that while we played. Such fun, simple times.

Christmas Misc

Just wanted to share my Christmas trees this year and a few other news things.

"MY" Christmas tree. I decorated it in all black and gold...with fluer de lis, crowns, and crosses that I got at Red Door and Ellis Pottery during our Thanksgiving trip back home. I ended up taking the gold, beaded garland off and it looked so much better...didn't get a picture of it though after I did that.

Christmas cookies...I made them from scratch with REAL royal icing! That is the first time I made royal icing and it was actually pretty good.

This year we got a Lego Advent calendar. The boys took turns building something each day. It was a huge hit! Of course anything Lego usually is!

I usually get one "kinda major" Christmas decoration each year. This year I got new "fancy" stockings with what else, fluer de lis stocking holders.

I don't know why, but I loved these little candy canes. We had gone to Cracker Barrel to eat and I spotted them. I waited for them to go half price and then I bought some.

I loved this Santa I got at Ross.

And just about forever, I have wanted this wreath! It's got little pomegranetes all over it. I loved the burlapy looking ribbon too. It went half off at Target so I snagged it...I think it was $19.99.
Just a random Christmas post I know!
