4th of July Fun

We had a great weekend celebrating the 4th of July! On Friday, the 3rd, we were invited by my friend Jill's sister, Julie and her husband, David to their church, Ellerbe Road Baptist to see their spectacular fireworks show! I was amazed at how wonderful it was! David does all the fireworks and Julie does the narration. It's all done to music and chorographed so beautifully!

I love this picture! Look at little Miss Claire all prim and propper and then look at those wild boys!
The fire truck came in case they were needed and it was so neat that they let all the kids get a tour. They gave out the cute hats!

David and Julie. They are my good friend Jill's sister and brother in law, but we consider them our friends now!
Watching all the wonderful fireworks!

On the night of the 4th, we had a block party...in perfect Grey Fox fashion! Well minus the karaoke machine this year, but it was still a blast!

Camille and our neighbors, the Hagar's friend...didn't catch his name sorry!

We have a very talented street! Glenn is playing the guitar and singing. They go to our church too and I'm recruiting him heavily for the choir! :)

Our neighbor Drew playing the guitar as well.

Our friends from 'up the neighborhood' came to join us. Their son, Caden joined in with the tamborine! He was pretty good too!
Firework time!

I also want to add that even though we get wrapped up in the parties and celebrations and all...I never want to forgot why we celebrate Independence Day in the first place. If it weren't for our veterans, serving past and present, freedom wouldn't be possible. Thanks seems so inadaquate for their amazing service and sacrifice (some the ultimate). I'm forever grateful to all of our servicemen and women, past and present and it gives me great pride to say that I have one of them as my husband. God bless the USA!

Camille's 40th Birthday Party

My next door neighbor and friend, Camille had her 40th birthday on June 6th. So in Grey Fox fashion, we had a block party to celebrate! We had a great time with lots of food, dancing, fun, and just hanging out!

My neighbors, Chrissy, Aaron, Courtney, Camille and Marie doing the "YMCA"!

End of Year School Sleepover

A couple weeks ago, Jonathan had an "End of 2nd Grade" sleepover with some of his friends. Seth also had his friend Matthew over so he didn't feel left out! We had a blast swimming, eating, playing games, watching movies, and just having fun. This is a great group of boys and I'm so glad Jonathan has them as good friends!

New Addition...now I'm not the only girl around here!

Meet Carly...
Even though I wasn't fond of the idea of getting a dog, I have to admit I kinda like her! Nathan and Seth brought our new German Shepherd puppy, Carly home two weeks ago. She was just 6 weeks old! I can't believe how smart she is! She's doing very well with housebreaking, but I wish she wouldn't nip so much! Any ideas on how to break her of that?

Kindergarten Graduate!

Seth's Kindergarten Graduation was held on Wednesday, May 27th at the Faith Chapel, First Baptist, Bossier City. I can't believe how quickly this past year went by. It was such a bittersweet time for us...fun because he made so many new friends and learned so much, but also a bit sad for this momma to see her baby growing up so fast!
Pictures from the play. They did the play first, then the actual graduation.

Seth was Mr. Farmer in the Dell. He did so well with his speaking part!

I was a little upset that they didn't take off his flannel shirt! It looked silly under his gown. I sent him to school in his white shirt! Oh well...

I don't know how this happened, but I neglected to get a picture of Seth getting his diploma on stage with Mr. Thompson, our principal. I told Mr. Thompson after the ceremony what happened and without hesitation he took off out of the chapel, hurried down the hall, and found Seth. He stepped outside and posed for a picture with him! I was so thankful! Of course, I really wanted a picture of him getting his diploma, so I'm going to check with the photography studio that took pictures that day and see if I can still get one.

Seth with his Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Pamela Penton. We had a great year with Mrs. Penton. Seth learned so much! I have to admit, I was a little discouraged when I found out last year that Seth was going to have Mrs. Penton as a K teacher...she has a reputation as being very strict and tough. As the year progressed, I could see that Seth was a great fit with her. He loves her and she loves him. There were some tears shed all around when they said their last goodbyes! Just goes to show, you have to go on your own judgements and experiences. We are so grateful to Mrs. Penton for giving Seth such a wonderful kindergarten year. He had a great 'first' school experience.

When Seth got home that afternoon. I had balloons and cupcakes waiting for him!

New Teachers for Next Year and I'm THRILLED!!

Not that we get to choose, but I am so thrilled to report that Jonathan and Seth got the teachers of my (and their!) choice!

Seth got Mrs. Everage for 1st grade. We love Mrs. Everage! Jonathan had her when he was in 1st grade and she is an amazing teacher! She's so fun and creative and I've developed a friendship with her since I work alot at the school.

Jonathan got Miss Bailey! We love Miss Bailey too! I subbed alot in her class this past year and I know she's an amazing teacher as well! She truly cares about her students and you can tell. She's one of those teachers that you just know loves her profession! It's great because I know alot about her routines and procedures and expectations. She's huge on reading (well what teacher isn't?!) so she and Jonathan will be a perfect fit!

Jonathan's (1st) Piano Recital

On Saturday, May 16th Jonathan had his first piano recital. He's been taking lessons since February and is doing so good! He played "Surprise!" from Haydn's "Surprise" Symphony. We were so proud watching him!

Nathan's parents came down from Texarkana to watch.

Proud Dad and Mom!

Our sweet friends (and neighbors), Courtney and Camille came to watch Jonathan.

I hated that he sat so far back! I wish that he (or we) would've moved it up! Jonathan did great though...didn't miss a beat!

Taking a bow!

Jonathan with his teacher, Mrs. Shana Houston. He loves Mrs. Shana!

Mrs. Shana had some pretty great refreshments! This cake was so neat!
