AWANA Awards

At the end of every year of AWANA (a kid's program at our church), the kids get awards if they finish their books. Jonathan and Seth finished their books. This is Jonathan's last year of AWANA. :( He's been in AWANA every year since 3 year old Cubbies. Nathan and I have been leading in AWANA for 8 years too.

Jonathan's 5th Grade Day

Every year at Jonathan's school, the Principal does something so awesome for the leaving 5th graders. It's called 5th Grade Day and he says it's his favorite day of the year. I believe it because he goes all out! I had the privilege or coordinating this event along with Dr. Rizer and I'm so glad I did. Jonathan had a great time spending some of his last few moments with some great people at LJES!

Jonathan was in his elementary school talent show. He played a beautiful song...I can't think of the name of it though! Ack! Here he is again with his wonderful music teacher, Mr. Helms.

Trip down Memory Lane

The other day, I got a Facebook message from a friend, Mrs. Everage, Jonathan's 1st grade teacher from Louisiana. She had found some photos and wanted to make sure I had them. Well I'm glad she did because I did not have these! What treasures! My sweet boy and his sweet teacher. We will always be grateful for Mrs. Everage...she made Jonathan feel so welcomed and allowed him to adjust to a new school so easily during the year. I'm absolutely certain Jonathan's career aspirations have changed quite a bit, but this is so precious.

Jonathan 5th Grade County Wide Honor Choir Peformance

We are so proud of Jonathan! He earned a spot in the county wide 5th grade Honor Choir! This perfomance was so amazing. Such talent!
They had a guest conductor, Mr. McKee come from Atlanta to lead the chorus.
Jonathan was his wonderful music teacher, Mr. Helms. Mr. Helms goes above and beyond for these kids and I'm so proud my boys got to have him.

Ta-Da! My finished burlap wreath...Valentine style

I have been seeing these beautiful burlap wreaths all over pinterest so my friend Wren and I got together and made some ourselves. We got rolls of burlap that look like ribbon at Michael's and then "bubbled" the burlap all over the wreath form, tying with thin floral wire. It's the same concept as the mesh wreaths...like the one I made a couple of months ago. I had a heart shaped form so I decided to purchase regular fabric style red burlap and just wrap the form with that. I placed it in the middle of the larger wreath and walla...a Valentine wreath...then after Valentine's Day, I can take it out and go with a different theme/design! I also cut a strip of the red burlap for a tie. It's so fun getting together with friends and doing crafts. I love wreaths so of course this was right up my alley.

Seth's Birthday Party

Since Seth's birthday is December 29th...it's always so hard to have a party on that day or near it so we always put it off for a couple of weeks. We had his party last Saturday. His best friends came over for pizza and cookie cake and then we took them all to Johnny Gs...it's a fun center that has mini golf, lazer tag, rides, bouncies, games, etc. He has such great friends here...this is a wonderful group of boys that "jive" so well together! I'm thankful for that. This was the BEST cookie cake we've ever had. It's from a cookie place in our mall.

Seth got a 3DS for his birthday and so did his friend Alex so they played together.

What a fun day!
