Greenwood Alligator Farm

On Saturday, June 19th, we went to the Greenwood Alligator Farm in Greenwood, LA. We'd always heard it was a neat place and that you get to really interact with all the animals. Well, you can purchase extremely overpriced feed after you pay an extremely overpriced admittance fee and feed the animals (not alligators) through a fence! Yeah we were a bit dissapointed. They had some neat animals, the deer were just getting their felt on their antlers. We did get to all hold a baby alligator for about 5 seconds! It was SO HOT! Jonathan was kinda grossed out by it all. H e wouldn't touch or feed the animals (that's why there are no photos of him doing so), but amazingly we talked him into holding an alligator.

This is what happens when Seth is around a cat!

Seth spent the night with his buddy Lane and he had a cat! Bad Mom Alert: I didn't even ask if they had one because Seth had been to his house to play a million times and never had a problem! Poor baby!
Before we left for Georgia, we went and spent a few days in DeQueen with my parents. Shame on me for not taking photos of them with the boys! I actually thought I did, but now I can't find them! I did manage to take photos of the boys with my grandparents, the boy's great-grandparents (only ones left on my side). This is my Papaw Walker and Irma. We had a great visit with them! We all went out to lunch in Broken Bow to celebrate their annivesary so that was extra special! I love them so much and hate we had to move away! It was so nice being close for those nearly three years.

Final AR Party, Last Day of School, Friends and Teachers

Well, we ended our year and our time at Stockwell Place Elementary. The boys and I were so sad to say goodbye. SWP is such an awesome school and I know we will never find another like it!

Here are some photos of our last day and of the AR "Skate and Scoot" party. I took ice cream and posicles for the kids and they loved getting the treats!

Jonathan had such an awesome year with Miss Bailey. She is such an amazing teacher and will always be so very special to us! SWP is so lucky to have her! Seth's teacher, Mrs. Everage left in the middle of the year to have a baby so Seth had Miss Baker as her permanent sub. There were some trying times, but he did great and loved them both! After school that day, we had a party with friends at our neighborhood pool...it was cloudy and even had rained before, but we all still had alot of fun. We are sure going to miss that Dogwood Pool, but miss our friends even more!

End of Year Teacher Gift

I promise to get caught up on my blog soon! Here's a picture I had handy and wanted to share. This is a frame I made for Jonathan's teacher last year. I gave it to her on the last day of school. These are easy to make! Just get a $1 frame from Michael's, cover it with scrapbook paper, using Mod-Podge, and add embellishments...the posibilities are endless! So quick, fun, and cute. They have some really awesome scrapbook paper at Hobby Lobby so I'm going to make some more of these soon. Oh and also Michael's has some new, fun sizes of frames. Even some 12X12...how easy would that be? Just putting the paper right on, not even trimming except for the window.

Jonathan's Recital

This morning Jonathan had his second piano recital. He had only been taking lessons for a couple of months when he had his first one last year. It's so neat to see the progress in a year! We are so proud of Jonathan and appreciate his teacher, Mrs. Shana Houston so much! We were so glad that Pa-Pa (Nathan's dad, in the photo below with Jonathan) and Matt came down from Texarkana to attend as well.

Field Day

On Friday, May 7th, the boy's school held their annual Field Day. Field Day is a big deal and so much fun! It's so nice to see the kids enjoying themselves, getting some exercise a break from the everyday routine. Luckily, I could get a sub so I wouldn't have to miss it...especially the last one we'll be attending at this school. That makes me SAD!! Here are some photos I'm sharing from that day.
